Inside diameter of valve seats must be stock (Int. 1.200” max ID and Ex 1.020” max ID) (Both measured at the largest diameter of the steel seat). Valve seats must appear stock and must be in stock position and depth. All four Head Bolts/Studs are required.
I started off by checking 8 valve springs from 2 different heads. All testing was done using a installed height of 1.555/39.5mm I found they fell in the range of 37-40lbs When the factory .020 spring seat was used they came up to 40-43 lbs.
I am planning on porting my stock E7 heads and decided to install a new set of valve springs as mine have 160kms (100,000miles) on them. I went to my local Ford dealer and all he found is the exhaust valve springs. He did a dealer search across Canada and U.S. and only came up with 2 intake. Has Ford stopped making stock compenents for the 5.0L !!
